A Message From the Principal

As we approach the end of yet another school year, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your help, support, and interest this year. We have had another very busy and successful year in school and you, as partners in the education of your children, deserve much of the credit.

I cannot possibly thank everyone in this letter that has volunteered, contributed, or supported our school because there are so many people. Whether it the WatchDOG dads overseeing the building for a day, the PTO who organized numerous successful events, or the countless parents who volunteered in their students’ classrooms.  I thank everyone who has given of their time and talents to support and improve our school. We could not possibly operate without the support of our parents and volunteers who give with generous loving hearts.

The Ravenwood family continues to grow.  We’ve added an additional .5 kindergarten section and I’m pleased to announce that Allysa Reck (currently teaching 1st grade at Ridgeview Elementary) has accepted this position.  Chris Williams (currently teaching 4th grade at Manchester Park) will be filling Jon Bell’s position.  Finally, I’m working with HR to add a fifth teacher to our 4th grade team.

Several current staff members will be teaching new grade levels next year.  Mrs. Larson will join the 5th grade team, Ms. Brake will join the 4th grade team, and Mrs. Haun will work with the 3rd grade team.

We are hard at work on class lists, and I’m anticipating the traditional move-up day during the last week of school.  I’ll be sure to notify you of the exact date.

Today, our students enjoyed field day, but we still have one more exciting event planned for the entire school.  On May 15, students will spend their specials time enjoying the bounce houses that were planned for the Tiger Trot.  I’m disappointed we had to cancel that event—a majority of the vendors we reserved were already scheduled for other events.  The money raised will once again fund classroom fieldtrips next year.

Finally, may I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy, safe, and enjoyable summer when it eventually arrives. Hopefully, there will be many opportunities for you to talk to, play with, and enjoy your children this is time you will never have again! I look forward to seeing you at Enrollment Day on July 25.
